WMAA Monthly Meeting

We have our monthly meeting of the Western Montana Astronomical Association this coming Friday, October 13th at 6:30pm at the spectrUM Discovery Area. The museum is located at 812 Toole Ave - near Draught Works and St. Pat’s hospital. My original speaker plans never materialized, so we will have our very first WMAA Movie Night! I’ve put a few options on hold at the library. We’ll let the crowd decide which one to view on Friday. We’ll have some popcorn and snacks, and watch this on the large SMART Board in the classroom.

Missoula Public Library Telescope Program

Ever wanted to use a telescope, but don’t want to buy one? If you have a library card with the Missoula Public Library, you can check out a telescope for free! Interested folks can checkout the scope pictured below via the Missoula Public Library through a cooperative program with the Western Montana Astonomical Association. For more information about the telescope and its use, contact our president, Nick Wethington, through the Contact Us form.

This program is based on a similiar one now operating in New Hampshire. For the New Hampshire program please see: NHAS Library Telescope Program

Telescope instruction manual can be found here.
