Missoula Public Library Telescope

Interested in checking out one of the Missoula Public Library's two telescope? Come to the library on Monday, August 7th to learn all about the telescopes and how to use them. General use of the telescopes will be covered, but bring your questions about asrtonomy too. Safe viewing and the science behind the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21st will also be covered, including some hand on demonstrations. This event takes place form 6-8pm in the Large Meeting Room at the Missoula Public Library.

From July through August

WMAA will not have a regular monthly meeting. We will instead be present at the Blue Mountain Observatory open houses throughout the summer with telescopes and information. The dates are as follows, and more information about start times as well as ticket reservations can be found on their website. Please check their website for information on the weather before heading up for any of these events!

Missoula Public Library Telescope Program

Ever wanted to use a telescope, but don’t want to buy one? If you have a library card with the Missoula Public Library, you can check out a telescope for free! Interested folks can checkout the scope pictured below via the Missoula Public Library through a cooperative program with the Western Montana Astonomical Association. For more information about the telescope and its use, contact our president, Nick Wethington, through the Contact Us form.
